This shochu is made from Miyazaki-grown "Murasaki Masari" purple sweet potatoes cultivated as green plant-based fertilizer and brewed with domestically produced rice using white koji. It features a vibrant aroma and gentle sweetness, with glossy berry-like notes, fruity sweetness from the purple sweet potato, and the natural umami of the tuber. The flavor is rich and full-bodied, expanding in the mouth with a soft, smooth finish. Mild and easy to drink without sharpness or strong aftertaste, it offers enough depth to complement meals as an ideal drinking companion.

About Ochiai Distillery
Founded in 1909, our small shochu distillery is located in the mountains near Kaeda Valley in southern Miyazaki City. Using pristine spring water from the nearby Kagamizu River and brewing the yeast starter in traditional Mitsuishi clay pots, we produce shochu that enhances everyday meals. Our shochu is characterized by rich aroma and flavor, a gentle smoothness, and a soft, lingering finish. With a variety of ingredients, we offer diverse tastes, aiming to create shochu that our customers will love and enjoy for years to come.
