Single-type distilled using “MURASAKIMASARI” green manure grown sweet potato from Miyazaki Prefecture and with white KOJI malt from domestically grown rice.

A sophisticated berry-like aroma distinct to MURASAKIMASARI densely comes out, with a hunch of mellow rich flavor. Such a shiny and splendid aroma. Harmonized high level flavors, it has a massive flavor with body in the middle. The taste is gentle and soft and it makes the graceful aroma and flavor even mellower. After passing through the throat, you may feel the pleasant cherry-like aftertaste with a slight sweetness from your nose to your stomach.

About Ochiai Distillery

Named after the distillery’s founder, Rihei Ochiai, Ochiai is a 4th generation, family-run distillery that honors the traditions of their 100-year-old past while continuing to evolve as an award-winning shochu producer in the 21st century. While most shochu is made from sweet potatoes, barley or rice, they focus on crafting high quality, small production shochu made from locally grown produce like ginger, pumpkin, bell pepper, and yomogi leaves.
