About Iichiko
In 1958, Sanwa was established through the merger of three family companies, with a fourth joining the following year. The company produced a variety of sake, wine, and shochu. In 1979, Sanwa introduced iichiko, a premium honkaku shochu made from 100% barley and distilled only once. Today, iichiko is the leading brand of barley shochu in Japan.
