About Yanagita
Yanagida Shuzo, founded in 1902, is the oldest distillery in Miyakonojo City. Located in the center of the vast Miyakonojo Basin, surrounded by mountains, the distillery benefits from pure underground water essential for shochu production. The fifth-generation owner, Masashi Yanagida, an engineer by training, is known for his innovative approach, personally modifying stills and skillfully producing a variety of shochu styles.
