About Julia Momose
Born and raised in Japan, Julia Momose grew up with a meticulous appreciation for details. Since moving to America she has made it her mission to bring a genuine sense of Japanese hospitality to her work as a bartender.
She opened her own bar, Kumiko, in Chicago in December 2018, and is actively promoting Japanese saké and shochu through her beverage program. In March of 2020, Momose founded a grassroots movement called Cocktails for Hope which successfully led to new legislation in Illinois surrounding the sale of premixed cocktails for pick-up and delivery for bars and restaurants.
