About Beniotome Shuzo
Sesame shochu Beni Otome no Sato is located in Tanushimaru-machi, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Rich in nature and history, it is known as a city of fruits. The spring water from the Mino mountain range that rises behind the distillery is pure and very suitable for sake brewing. In the 1970s, when the popularity of western liquors increased, the founder of Beniotome Sake Brewery, Haruno Hayashida, came up with shochu using sesame with the aim of "making a fragrant liquor that is as good as the western liquors that everyone admires." Born in Tanushimaru-cho, shochu with a rare fragrance is prized and loved not only by people in Japan but also by people all over the world.
